About the PMO Mini-Masterclass – PMO Tooling – Tricks, Tips and Things to Consider
PMO tools is one of those subjects that frequently comes up as a big challenge for PMOs. Data, information, reporting – all of those things are the bread and butter of a PMO’s work. The problem we have is trying to have that opportunity for understanding and discussion about tools without it becoming a sales pitch
We have the ideal solution to that.
We have Maggie McGeary, Governance and Reporting Manager from Sainsbury’s Bank joined by Nicole Reilly, an experienced PMO consultant who has a vast array of experience across many of the popular tools available in the marketplace today – a self-confessed PMO tool nerd! ?
We kicked off with Maggie welcoming us to Sainsbury’s Bank and opening up the session with sharing her experiences of last two organisations which have had no tooling and how this has challenged her thinking on the dependency on tools and forced her to think about the importance of having real clarity on the purpose and usage of tools and the fit of functionality to business needs, rather than blind assumption that what is required is a full-blown PPM solution in every case.
Nicole shared some of her extensive experience of implementing project management tools in various organisations, and supporting businesses when it goes wrong, with tools reviews/ tool adoption initiatives, and common pitfalls to watch out for.
A short exercise on some of the challenges that the PMO faces when it comes to PMO tool implementation.
