Thursday 1st May is the next PMO Flashmob night and what a night it is going to be.
We’re holding it at the historical public house Dirty Dicks near Liverpool Street, a brilliant place steeped in history and Charles Dickens, what’s not to like.
We will be hosting the night in a private area of the bar – Hobson’s Bar on the first floor of the pub.
PMO Flashmob kicks off at 6pm and we will be hosting the first Ignite night for PMOs.
It works really well for events where you have people who all have something in common – that’s us, PMOs! – and basically any attendee has the opportunity to participant (it’s OK we won’t MAKE you). The event motto is, “Enlighten us, but make it quick!” so basically you can stand up, talk about something PMO related for a couple of minutes and then we all go back to chatting and having a drink. There are no slides in the PMO Ignite night, just an opportunity to get up, say your piece, then head to the bar for another drink.
It’s a great way to see what people have to say – makes it easier to go up to people and start talking to them – and it gets easier the more you have to drink! For more information about Ignite take a look at a Wiki explanation
We’re especially delighted to have AECOM sponsoring this evenings event – they’re providing the food and the venue for the evening. A few of their PMO practitioners have been coming along to previous flashmobs and liked the idea so much that they wanted to show their support. To say thanks to them from us, they’ll be one of the first up on the Ignite soapbox 🙂

The original Dirty Dick, was Richard, or some say Nathanial, Bentley, a prosperous city merchant living in the middle of the 18th century, who owned a hardware shop and warehouse, and it said to be the inspiration for Miss Havisham in Dickens’ Great Expectations.
