The next PMO Flashmob took place on Thursday 30th January at The Old Bank of England:
At this month’s PMO Flashmob, we had a lovely little room – the old bank vault by the looks of it – and had some new and “old” faces. Hopefully the new faces become “old” ones too.
There were a mix of conversations going on – as ever – we had a mix of types of PMO people. There were experienced PMO Managers and PMO analysts and support. We had people who earn a crust as a PMO consultant and those who worked with PMOs, keen to understand more about what the PMO can do and what value it brings to an organisation.
If you came last night, why not leave a comment about the evening – what did you get out of it?
For me personally I had a great conversation with Ed – we were talking about the ecletic mix of skills that go into a good PMO professional – they need good project management, programme management and portfolio management knowledge; they are good business and data analysts; they are able to manage up and down; they’re chameleons really when it comes to personal style and approach. In other words, they’re not secretaries!
What do you think? What other hat should they be wearing?
