Agile, Governance and Stage Gates

This PMO Flashmob will equip you with a take-away model to tailor and implement in your organisation how to accommodate the control of projects with a mix of agile and traditional approaches. The session will also cover how to add stage gated governance to purely agile development efforts.

If your organisation is Agile curious or agile reluctant, perhaps because senior management want a stage gate and governance based control method then this session will explore how PMOs can adapt existing controls to meet management’s desire for sanction points and gate approvals. We will explore how we do this whilst being sufficiently light-weight and flexible to support workstreams that are agile or structured enough to meet the needs of those ‘predictive’ waterfall planned projects.

For those of you agile keen but meeting resistance there is insight into how to message “We are under control boss, here is how the leadership can meet us half way by being more agile yourselves!”

Guidance and inspiration that makes your tailored approach auditable will be given, shared from a variety of sources such as AXELOS’ Global Best Practice, particularly the recently announced PRINCE2 Agile Foundation but also from the PMI’s PMBoK and GAPPS standards and PMO Flashmob’s soon to be available PMO competency model.
