6:00 pm: Southern PMO Flashmob Setting up a PMO
In this evening's session we'll be focusing on Setting Up a PMO with two sessions and interactive parts giving you time to talk to other PMO professionals.
First we'll hear from Kathie Damon, Corporate Portfolio Management Office Manager at West Sussex County Council who will be sharing insights into setting up the PMO following a restructuring exercise back in April 2016. The Corporate Portfolio Management Office vision is to be a centre of excellence for planning, programmes, projects, governance, policies & processes working across the Council. We'll be finding out what their approach has been to PMO set up and how they're getting on with realising their vision.
We'll also have a session on wider industry practices in setting up PMOs - taking a look at different approaches and the pros and cons of each.
This is a great evening for those both new to PMO and seasoned pros - or indeed anyone who is interested in how to make the best start in setting up a PMO from scratch.
As ever with the PMO Flashmob, we'll head to a nearby pub to carry on the conversation for those who are interested in networking further.
6:00 pm: London PMO Mini-Masterclass
The PMO Mini-Masterclass for March in London heads west - it's the evening after the last day of Project Challenge so if you're able to get along to that (and listen to our session on resource management - it's the last one of the day) you could really have a fun packed PMO day by coming along to this session in the evening around the corner 🙂
It's all about maturity and why the triangle? It's about the three areas of maturity that affect you, that's:
Three bits - not small or easy by any means - especially if we think about the (mainly) three different types of PMO - project, programme and portfolio - which will have their own areas of focus for maturity.
We'll be taking a look at each of these three areas of maturity - sharing insights into what already exists and helping to signpost you to the latest knowledge around each of them.
The session will be mainly lecture based - but it's important that we take time to understand what each other thinks about maturity; what actions need taking or just swapping stories and tips.
